Well, one reason to this is that we only have got this globe and if everyone were to be living like the Americans do, we would need four globes!!!!!
| WE DO NOT INHERIT EARTH FROM OUR PARENTS, WE BORROW IT FROM OUR CHILDREN!! |
The resources of mother Earth is unfortunately NOT infinite, as our ancestors once seemed to believe. If we mismanage the things Earth gives us, we will suffer for our foolishness. Look at what happends in sibira, where man have exploited the nature a maximum! Left behind is a bare lunar landscape where nothing can live, beacuse man have exctracted oil and natural gases and polluted the water, the air and the ground. IT'S A SCANDAL!!!!

Not until the last tree has been cut down.
Not until the last river has been intoxicated. Not until the last fish has been caught. Not until then, you will realize that you can not eat money. Old indian profecy from Canada from the 1800-century. |
I consider it to be each and everyones responsibility to litter or pollute as little as possible. as the clock is ticking, and every day we get closer to the line where nothing will be able to live on Earth - not even man themselves!!
The human beeing seem to believe that we are immortal and that nothing can work without us. Nothing could be more wrong, as Earth was here before man and will continue to be here after man is gone (unless we blow it up first). Earth can manage whithout us, but can we manage whithout Earth?
| IF WE CUT DOWN ALL THE TREES ON EARTH WE WILL CHOKE!!! |
Since the time is running out, it is extremely important that we all help each other out, so that our children, animals and everyone else can enjoy Earth in the future. One important thing that everyone must participate in is to reduce the large piles of waste. Everyone should assort their garbage into different buckets, for instance glass, batteries, cardboard, plastic packings or metals. Depositioncontainers are available in most communitys nowadays.
Next important step is composting of recyclable material. Since we all are part of the great circulation, it is a natural thing that we take our responsibility and start to compost as well. By composting you do not just preserve the nature, you can also save money as the refuse collection-fees are lowered by almost a third! Unfortunately not all have their own compost, but everyone should be able to have access to one! Besides that, composting is fun and you get nutritious soil in return!
What do I put in a compost?
In a compost you can put almost everything from the animal and plant kingdom, even eggshells and shrimps. It may be good to know that eggshells takes a
long time to dissolve and shrimpshells might start to smell bad if not covered by other garbage. Always stir the compost at regular intervals.
A properly working compost doesn't smell! The microorganism that decays organic material need carbon and nitrogen to be able to work properly.
If there is too much nitrogen in the compost ammonia is formed and the compost will start to smell bad.
Where can I get a compost?
It depends on what kind of compost you are planning. If you just want to place twigs from the garden in it, you can simply build an open compost.
If you on the other hand want to compost remains of food, you should have a compost with a closable lid. That kind of compost can be found at a
hypermarket or at a market garden. If you want to compost meat or fish the compost must be isolated!
What is wrong with the compost?
It smells ammonia.
It needs more carbon. Add paper, twigs or leaves.
It is to damp, what do I do?
Add sawdust or peat.
It is full of bugs.
The compost is to dry. Add water.
Nothing happends!
Is it to cold for the compost? Is it isolated?. Is it almost empty? Too little material contaning nitrogen? - Add fresh grass.
