Graham Chapman

Graham Chapman was born January 8th 1941 in Leicester, England.

Chapman played the main characters in both "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "The Life of Brian". In "Holy Grail", he played King Arthur and in "The Life of Brian", he played Brian. In "Monty Python´s Flying Circus", he often had military parts and since he had a doctor´s education, he also played doctors quite often.

Outside Python, he did, for example, the film "The Odd Job" in 1978 and the pirate film "Yellowbeard" in 1983, featuring Chapman as the pirate Yellowbeard, John Cleese , Eric Idle , Marty Feldman, Cheech and Chong, Peter Boyle, Madeleine Kahn, Peter Cook and many others.

Chapman was during a couple of years an alcoholic and his drinking reached its peak after the making of "Holy Grail". He realised that the drinking had to stop and he managed to quit.

Sadly, Graham Chapman died October 4th, 1989, of cancer.
