People usually say ferrets don't use their eyesight
very much, but I'm beginning to doubt that.

Today I brought them all down into the cellar of our
house, without turning the light on first. Or rather,
I tried to get them down, but two out of four refused
to go down the stairs until I had turned the light on
even though they've been down there lots of times.

One of those who refused is Alison, who distinguishes
herself by beeing the one to raise herself on her hind
legs to get a better view, so just possibly she's got
better eyesight than the others. Who knows?
