Carmen was the last one, so I thought that perhaps the animals at the nearby farm had been let out, so I took the long way home past it.

As luck would have it, two horses and a cow were standing by the fence, so Carmen could get a good look at them. One of the horses came over and let us take a real close look at it, and Carmen could smell it close up. She was very excited and wanted to go down on the ground all the time, but she wasn't frightened at all.
