This Saturday there was a national ferret show in Motala. As I want to train to become a judge, my task this time was to be a secretary to the judges. If you're an assistant on a national show, you cannot be that for the categories your ferrets appear in, so I had to leave all the females at home.

We put Rustan in a large cage in the back seat of the car, so only me and dad went. This wasn't all good, as part of the way there Rustan broke out of the cage - and on a road where I couldn't stop, so I had to hold him and drive (at 30 m/s). At the first place we could stop we did and let him walk in the woods for some time. After that I fixed the cage so I didn't think he could break out any more, but I still had to tell him firmly many times to stop trying.

The show itself went well. I learned a whole lot by sitting with the judges hearing their comments and after about half the time I had a good feeling for what points they were going to award for the different features.

Rustan finished third in his class, which was no surprise to me.

He didn't do well in the ferret race at all, as he doesn't like running through tubes on time.

The trip home was much more uneventful as he slept most of the time.
