Röskva has learned to listen to what I say
The last few days has meant a breakthrough: She
now seems to understand what I say. Not just a few
things, but the principle that words can mean something.
This means I now have to be careful with what I say:
Day before yesterday when I opened the door she
came to the threshold and looked out, whereupon I
asked "So, you want to go out?": Zoom! and she was
out the door after the last words.
This has come more or less at the same time she has
started to act as she is properly litter trained.
Problem is now some of the others follow her bad
example. But I'm sure it will pass, as it has done
before.
Alison is lively
One could think that someone who is at least six
years old would be sort of tired. But no: She is
actually the one who wants to be outdoors the most,
and walks the furthest. This is both good and bad.
Bad because Rustan isn't supposed to act like
he's getting old. Not yet, at least. Perhaps he's
just exhausted after having to deal with Röskva
on a daily basis.
Getting along with Röskva
Last week has been remarkarbly free of violence, but
there's been lots of noise made. The other go to
her when she's asleep; She wakes up and moves off
and starts yelling at them; They either don't bother
with her and just leaves, or they take her sleeping
place and starts "digging" with the front paws to
indicate... yes, what? Dominance?
Alison is the only one who consistently does not
give in. Too bad that when Rustan gets worked up he's
got serious problems telling friend from foe, as he's
the one who can mess her up the most.
