When I weighed Alison this morning, I found she had gained a lot of weight. As she still looks and feels very skinny, I didn't think this was a good thing, as this is exactly what happened to Natasja the weeks before she died.

And due to the winter, Alison has been a lot less active nowadays, than just a couple of weeks ago, nor has she wanted to stay out for very long in the cold.

So: As it's not a goal in itself having old ferrets, I mentally prepared to take her to the vet a last time the coming week or the week after. She's will not have to become as exhausted as Natasja.

But after having brought her to my parents in the afternoon, she was very active and happy, running around and chasing toys and even jumping up in the sofa next to me (I haven't seen her jump up on a chair by herself for over a year, but mom says she's often in the window by herself), and seeing how she's still got a springy step, it's probably just normal winter tiredness.

Not that I think she's really well, as she's skinny but with a too large stomach, probably with a liver "too large to put back" if one opened her.
